The Project

Energy savings and energy efficient buildings are considered a key way for reduction of green house gas emissions, taking into consideration that in fact buildings are responsible for over 40% of Europe's greenhouse gas emissions. The construction sector is furthermore one of the largest in Europe and a major motor for its development. The EU Directive 2010/31/EC defines concrete goals for energy savings and for the use of renewable energies in buildings. Buildings in fact are responsible for over 40% of Europe's greenhouse gas emissions.

The EnEf project aims at designing training modules and contents to be delivered to entrepreneurs and managers of the building industry. These trainings will focus on energy efficiency in buildings. This project will contribute to cost effective energy efficiency, reduction of emissions bringing significant emissions reductions and cost savings to Member States.

The main aim of the project is to alleviate the lack of knowledge of entrepreneurs and managers of the building industry by using new methodologies and by building up modules of training in European standards trying to grasp the common points between different applications in different countries.

This project aims at creating in partner countries, generally in Europe, an accessible training approach enriched by an e-Learning platform, visual elements simulations and interesting practices in building industry.

In the first phase the project will analyse the gaps of the current training systems concerning energy efficiency in building as well as the lessons to be learned from the more developed systems in partner countries. This analysis will be reported and published and the training contents will be prepared on the basis of this report.

The training contents will be formed of different modules. The network of partners has been formed in order to accomplish the project tasks in the most appropriate way, including experts on environmental issues and entities with experience in European training projects. Internal partnership's material will be spread in English then each partner will translate the training material into its own language.
