On 22 June 2011, a new set of measures for increased Energy Efficiency is proposed by the European Commission to fill the gap and put back the EU on track.

The Commission proposes simple but ambitious measures:

• Legal obligation to establish energy saving schemes in all Member States
• Public sector to lead by example
• Major energy savings for consumers

The new Directiove will boost the European commitment to reach the 20-20-20 goals. EnEf project is giving its contribution to the European Strategy for a sustainable, competitive and secure energy.
